Railway Climatic Wind Tunnel

Designed to test railway vehicles under extreme conditions including wind, temperature, humidity, rain, snow and sun for virtually any climatic environment on earth from arctic to tropical conditions. Test sections are configured to accommodate full size locomotives and carriages permitting climatic testing of all rolling stock elements and passenger comfort assessment.

Boundary Layer Wind Tunnels

The words “boundary layer” are used to describe the wind turbulence from ground level to heights of approximately 1500 feet. This class of wind tunnel is traditionally used by industrial designers and engineers to measure the effects of wind on buildings, structures and vehicles close to ground level with longer air circuits to ensure development of a deep boundary layer.

Ground Runup Enclosures (GRE’s)

Meeting stringent FAA requirements for engine runups following aircraft maintenance work, ground run-up enclosures permit full engine performance testing with effective noise mitigation for surrounding areas and quieter airport operations. Acoustically treated GRE’s enable larger aircraft to operate in oblique winds without impacting engine air inlet conditions.

Free Fall

Aiolos has designed and assembled a self contained, aesthetically attractive, Free Fall Simulator package, custom designed to suit client needs, which accommodates novice to expert fliers. Inside the simulator, flyers can enjoy the sensation of freefall flying in a smooth vertical air column in a safe environment without concern for bad weather or safety issues.
