May 21, 2008 Aiolos to Supply a High Flying Wind Tunnel to UWO
Aiolos has been awarded a turnkey contract to design-build a very unique test facility. The University of Western Ontario’s Advanced Facility for Avian Research (AFAR) in London, Ontario, Canada will feature a wind tunnel designed and supplied by Aiolos that will be the first of its kind in the world. The wind tunnel will be capable of simulating a range of altitude and climatic conditions for the study of bird physiology and aerodynamics. The hypobaric simulation capabilities, along with the ability to vary air temperature and humidity levels, will allow researchers to study birds in well controlled environmental conditions for extended periods to simulate migratory flight patterns and other scenarios.
