Aerodynamics is at the heart of many of the projects that we execute. Aiolos has developed in house analysis tools for designing wind tunnels and aerodynamic systems. In addition, Aiolos uses ANSYS, ICEM, CFD and ANSYS CFX for Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) modeling.

For mechanical design, a combination of AutoCAD and Pro/Engineer is used. This provides the flexibility and efficiency needed to quickly design and execute projects. Analysis is conducted using structural analysis packages such as Pro/Engineer Mechanica and ANSYS.

The electrical and controls group designs the infrastructure needed to effectively implement these complicated test facility projects. This group is regularly faced with design challenges due to the required control accuracies and the demanding environmental conditions equipment is often exposed to.

Aiolos staff have completed a number of aeroacoustic projects using a combination of advanced Aiolos developed modeling programs and commercial ray tracing, boundary element (BEM) and composite structure design programs.
